Thank you to everyone who joined us for our April Indigo Belonging in Action Lab + Town Hall. With a change in venue and Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy as the keynote speaker, the evening was a powerful reminder that Indigo continues to grow not just in homes, but in relationships, ideas, and shared ownership of the community we’re building together.
Residents, staff, community partners, and local leaders came together for meaningful conversations around neighborhood updates, governance, community life, and what it means to create a place where everyone feels connected, valued, and able to belong. We were also honored to welcome special guests and community partners who helped deepen the conversation and create new opportunities for connection.
Below you’ll find a recap of key updates, discussion highlights, and responses to questions shared during the meeting.
The key remaining elements on the playground are installation of a weed barrier and playground mulch. We are committed to finishing the installation and opening the playground before the school year ends.
Della was chosen for their successful history in Houston as an "all-day café" and providing a wide-range of service, including coffee, food, and wine. Like many restaurants, wine is one of many offerings and an offering many Indigo residents have expressed interest in having within walking distance in the neighborhood. The owners, Doug and Becca, are committed to Indigo's family-friendly vision and want to be a partner in ensuring the full-bellied, family-friendly atmosphere continues when they open.
As Della continues preparing for opening, they will share more information about their day-to-day operations, offerings, and the family-friendly elements of their space as those plans are finalized.
As an independently operated business, Della is not an HOA-operated amenity and is not obligated to provide resident-specific services, amenities, or benefits. Any special offerings, promotions, or partnerships extended to Indigo residents is at Della’s discretion.
Creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment continues to be an important priority in those plans.
The lights along Loam Lane are a CenterPoint responsibility. We will continue to follow up for updates, but currently have no visibility into when they will start construction. Please continue to check the Neighborhood Project Hub for the latest updates.
We appreciate the patience as we're continuing to turn lighting projects on throughout the neighborhood. The Indigo monument lights are scheduled to be powered up by an electrician in June. Please continue to check the Neighborhood Project Hub for the latest updates.
Bullhead is controlled by the drainage district and they are in charge of maintenance.
The remaining landscaping within the mews is expected to be installed later this year, in the fall. Completing the mews landscaping will be a large project to apply grass seed throughout all mews and finish other landscaping within Section 1. Please continue to check the Neighborhood Project Hub for the latest updates. For landscaping questions related to the common areas or your property, please feel free to reach out to Melody Beavers at mbeavers@coherelife.com.
We’re all committed to making Indigo a beautiful place to call home. As some areas continue through construction, please check the project tracker for updates. The Community Life Team is actively working with LEI to strengthen landscape maintenance, and residents are always welcome to get involved through the resident-led Landscaping or Common Ground clubs. If you notice a concern, please submit it through the community concern form.
The Community Life Team has worked with LEI to establish a quarterly schedule to maintain weeds and grass along the south retaining wall for homes on Kindred Way.
The Community Life Team and LEI perform monthly landscaping walk throughs in the neighborhood and LEI plans to prepare a monthly progress report.
Please reach out to Melody Beavers (mbeavers@coherelife.com) if any landscaping is damaged by LEI, whether that be grass, flower beds, or other resident-owned areas.
Centric Fiber can help residents get connected to the community wi-fi through the Centric Fiber app. Indigo's Regional Sales Representative is Michael Rozier (michael.rozier@centricfiber.com) and he can assist residents with getting connected.
Commissioner McCoy shared a new Fort Bend County project tracker to stay up to date on mobility projects in and around Indigo and greater Fort Bend County.
Commissioner McCoy noted that residents should report a blocked railroad crossing in two ways: directly to Union Pacific and to the Precinct 4 office. Reporting a blocked crossing to both Fort Bend County and Union Pacific create data to help build the case to Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for projects separating the road and railway intersections. If any crossing is blocked, call the number on the railroad crossing signal 1-(800)-648-8715, and tell them the crossing ID: 743713K Harlem Road. To report to the Precinct 4 Commissioner's office, email commpct4@fbctx.gov.
Where can my gifts take root at Indigo?
The Belonging in Action Lab gave residents an opportunity to speak one-to-one with community partners, resident-led club leaders, and the development team to share honest feedback, explore new ideas, and help shape how we continue growing as a connected, participatory community. Every conversation, question, and perspective shared help guide what comes next for Indigo.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, leaned in, and contributed to the dialogue. Your engagement continues to strengthen the relationships, trust, and shared ownership that make Indigo more than a neighborhood.
If you weren’t able to attend and still have questions or ideas to share, please connect with the Community Life Team.
